Angostura Bitters
- 1 cup vodka
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons gentian root, dried
- 1 tablespoon orange peel, dried
- 1 tablespoon ginger root, dried and sliced
- 1 tablespoon cloves, whole
- 1 tablespoon allspice berries, whole
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Mix
- Glass Jar
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place and let it steep for 2-3 weeks
- shaking the jar every day or two
- strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or fine-mesh sieve
- Discard the solids
